LENNON SHINE’S IN EVERTON GAME

It has been nine games since the last time Danny Ings Burnley put the ball in the back of the net. The last time was in January. Aaron Lennon, on the other hand has scored two goals in the last 3 games. The attacking midfielder put Everton to a great start with a fast pace with his all out attacking style.

Burnley could not handle Everton’s penetrating midfield, which resulted in Aaron Lennon running the Burnley defense, where he was caught in the box by Dave Jones to give a penalty. It was debatable, as after a second glance, it may have been just outside the box.

Burnley would had been done, until Ross Barkley, Romelu likuku’s penalty was saved. giving Burnley the lifeline they needed. Lennon came close again for Everton which just went past the post. a slick passage of play from Everton ended with Kevin Mirallas to score a simple goal give to give Everton the lead. Dave Jones should have scored from after a neat touch from Danny Ings, but the ex man utd player could finish on his weaker right foot. burnley’s best chance of the first half, Barnes was sent off just before the half time for his second bookable offense

2nd half

The half started with a disgusting tackle from Kevin Mirallas against Chris Boyd, Mirallas was lucky to stay on the pitch. Burnley tried give Everton a game but over the 90 minutes Everton were just too strong, and Aaron Lennon’s continued to press Burnley’s defense, culminating in nice passage of play where he set up Leighton Baines to force an a good save from Tom Heaton. Lennon had another chance to score but his shot was to weak to beat the keeper/ hippera set a beautiful cross for Danny ignns came close with a header just over the post. Everton deserved the victory over the 90 minutes, and Aaaron Lennon would easily qualify as man of the match for this game.
