Former West Ham midfielder Declan Rice opened the scoring in the 38th minute, with a Bukayo Saka penalty in the 67th minute sealing all three points for the Gunners. This victory was a statement of intent, particularly since it was a London derby.

Nottingham Forest, under new manager Ange Postecoglou, remain winless after seven games, falling to a 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United. The bottom of the table sees Wolves remain rooted to the foot with only two points, closely followed by West Ham and Burnley, who both have four points.
