Hollywood legend revealed the plans to Jonathan Ross on his ITV chat show on Saturday night.
What a show that was with Johnathan Ross, interviewing the one and only KEANU REEVES! It’s nice to see the actor surface because he’s not one to make an appearance very often. The star lays low between films (which are very rare this day and age) and despite the odd occasion being spotted travelling on the tube but that’s all! What the interview revealed was more than we could imagine and we thought we were just in for a friendly chat!
‘The writers wrote a script which is a really cool idea and Alex Winter and I – Alex played Bill, I played Ted – so we’re trying to get it made”.
It’s been over 20 years since the last sequel Bogus Journey hit our screens, 1991 to be precise. You thought it was over? No it’s not. We can’t believe it, who would have predicted another installment from the nutty pair! Co-star Alex Winter who plays Bill is ready to get stuck into the new script with old pal Keanu. The first edition to the flicks was released back in 1989 gathering a box office profit of 40.8 Million, quadrupling the initial budget the cast and productions crew started with. During the interview which Olly Murs was present, Keanu revealed the script for a third film in the hilarious comedy franchise has in fact already been written. That’s right! EXCITED??!! What a bomb to drop and we wasn’t prepared but we can’t complain. It’s like Christmas day all over again. Remember the air guitars? They created that craze and we can’t thank them enough, haha. No one played an imaginary guitar like Bill and Ted! And no one made such onomatopoeic sound effects to go with. We are all guilty of mimicking their little catch phrase “Totally Bodacious dude”, it kept the youths of that generation repeating the catchy line and no doubt the rebirth of the sequel will influence the new generations to come.
‘No man, show business it’s tough, putting a movie together is tough, with Original film star Alex Winter recently confirming another film it is ‘really close’, adding: ‘We’re producing it and we’re actively trying to get it made.’
The world class actor whose mother is originally from Essex admitted “I left home when I was 17, 18, dropped out of high school, was working as an actor and other part time jobs and eventually I got in the car and drove from Toronto to Los Angeles… We had a little road trip, me and a few friends”
A little later he surly did get the break he needed and has gone on to act in some of our most momentous movies too date. Bill and Ted which he plays Theodore Logan gave him his big break! Despite a few earlier appearances this was the one. So no wonder he wishes to revisit such a memory. Keanu has given us more than enoughaction thrillers; Point Break (1991) and Speed (1994). Not to mention the science fiction-action trilogy The Matrix (1999-2003). He has also appeared in several dramatic films such as Dangerous Liaisons (1988), The Matrix (1999), Constantine (2005) and the day the Earth stood still (2008). The list is endless.
The star who recently turned 50 and doesn’t look a day over 35 revealed it has not been an easy project to get off the ground but assured us it will happen as to when? We are not sure, no date has been revealed as a set release date. I would think 2017/2018 should sound about right. But whilst you wait for that dose you can get your fix with Keanu’s latest movie “John Wick” and if that’s not enough the “Chain Reaction” actor has three films in the making this year that you can keep your eye out for. “Knock Knock”, “The whole truth” and “Daughter of God” are all set to hit your homes very soon.
ROLL ON BILL & TED 3!!
