Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn is unpopular, and needs to go.
He is facing the second rebellion in the last week, following discontent about his commitment to the Remain campaign during the campaign for the E.U referendum. As Britain voted Brexit in last months referendum vote, anger and resentment have been running high in both the Labour and Conservative party.
Jeremy Corbyn yesterday was on the wrong side of a 172-40 no confidence vote, a strong signal that he is no longer respected nor wanted as leader. His position was made worse when he compared Israel
to various styled Islamic states and organizations, at the launch of his anti semetic report. Corbyn said it was wrong to expect a Jew to have an opinion on Israel in the same way it is wrong to expect a Muslim to have an opinion on Islamic extremist. This comment has led to heavy criticism against Corbyn, worsening his standing in a torn and divided party. Corbyn is so unpopular that he is holding dearly
Six new members of his cabinet are urging jeremy Corbyn to go quietly, but the Labour leader is holding tightly to his position. A leadership challenge designed to topple Corbyn has been delayed for at least 24 hours by Insiders have confirmed that over 60,000 new members have joined the Labour party in the last week, with divided Labour members scrambling to recruit supporters to support their course. Anti Corbyn MP’s have been actively recruiting supporters on their side, but the hard fact is that Corbyn is already a beaten man trying desperately to survive a crises so hard to reverse.
Former shadow secretary, Angela eagle, is a prospective candidate for Corbyn’s post. However, her decision to delay the leadership challenge by 24 hours is reported to have at it’s heart, the strategy of exploiting the dissension in the Conservative party , to buy time which can effectively be used to pressure Corbyn into voluntary resignation. The task Eagle faces is convincing a man lost in the trap of his ambitions. Corbyn released a twitter message stressing a responsibility to give a lead and hold the government to account. Conveniently ignoring the fact that he is and will be held to account for prolonging the dispute strangling his party.
‘Labour has a responsibility to give a lead ”we need to bring people together, hold the government to account, oppose austerity and set out a path to exit that will protect jobs and incomes. I was elected leader of our party for a new kind of politics, by 60% of Labour supporters. The need for that different approach now is greater than ever, ” his message said.
Jeremy Corbyn is blind to the fact that he can’t give any lead when so many of his party members want him out. He has lost his support base, and must go. He put his foot right in it when he compared Jews to Islamic extremists in his extreme analogy. He was trying to make a different point, but badly burnt his foot in the process of it. The pressure against Corbyn is mounting beyond resistance, and it is only a matter of time before he finally crumbles. It will be a great feat if he survives this onslaught, but stranger things have happened in history.
A labour insider told the eye of media.com that some MP’s have received death threats over the furore in the party and the plot against Corbyn. Meanwhile, the tension in the Conservative party has been hot , but nowhere as turbulent as the political disarray ripping the party apart. Jeremy’s unpopularity absolutely requires him to go peacefully for the sake of the party, because his credibility is likely to weaken more and more, if he fails to save the party from destruction and embarrassment reaching it’s climax.
