Edris Mohammed has been found guilty of murdering his two young children, after smothering them with a petrol-soaked rag, before setting fire to the family home. Mohammed was found guilty after a two weeks trial at Birmingham Crown Court.
Beautiful eight year old Saros Endris, eight, and his six year old sister Leanor (above), were both found dead at their house in Holland Road, Birmingham, in October 2016. Crazy taxi driver, Endris Mohammed, also tried to kill his wife by attempting to cause a gas explosion. His excuse of diminishing responsibility did not work with a jury too appalled by his utterly wicked act in killing his own family. Mohammed claimed money worries had sparked his murderous act and that he had also tried to commit suicide.
Penil Teklehaimanot, Mohammed’s wife, said in her evidence that she was woken by a smoke alarm and initially thought her children were asleep when she was unable to wake them.
“When I saw the fire I was scared and screamed,” she said. Notably, Mohammed’s wife did not make any speculations in court as to why he rhusnabd killed her kids so brutally, and tried to kill her. She said Mohammed was not in debt and they were not in arrears. She told the court that Mohammed was a quiet, gentle man whose personality had not changed in anyway since 2006.
However, the eye of media.com can reveal from a reliable source that the true reason of the killing was related to Mohammed’s frustration with not being able to live up to his children’s expectation, and keep them quiet from divulging private family matters to those outside their family household. He was also not able to afford to keep promises he made to them, like to take them on regular holidays and buy them whatever they wanted. But crucially, he felt their tendency to too easily divulge private family matters to outsiders and members of the extended family was wrong, the eye of media.com has heard.
” Edris did not just kill his children for no reason, the source told the eye of media.com. He loved his children, but could not give them what they wanted and they would sometimes nag him to keep his promise. He did not like being nagged or reminded of his inability to meet all their needs. He had always warned them not too discuss private family matters outside, but because they were kids, they would do so if asked. They were beautiful kids who wanted the best, but Edris could not afford to give them everything they wanted. He had two personalities, very calm and nice many times, but also had a bad temper on occasions”.
The source who knows the family claims Idris claims to have had money issues are true, but not to the extent of driving him to murder his children. ”Edris was ambitious, he wanted the best for his family but felt he was letting them down. I believe he definitely had some mental health problems, but not to the extent of claiming diminishing responsibility for a serious crime like murder. He had a lot of private issues, some he would talk about, and others he would keep to himself. As far as he was concerned, he had the perfect idea of how he wanted to bring his family up and you couldn’t tell him any different.
GUILTY
Edris Mohammed, an asylum seeker from East Africa since 2006, was found guilty of two counts of murder and one of attempted murder after the jury deliberated for under 30 minutes. He came to Britain for a better life, but instead will have no life after taking the lives of two innocent kids.
Trial judge Mr Justice Gilbart, addressing the jurors after the verdicts, told them:
“You’ve just dealt with a very important case.
“It’s an important public service. You’ve earned the thanks of the public for the vital work you’ve done.”
Penil Teklehaimanot, Mohammed’s wife, said in her evidence that she was woken by a smoke alarm and initially thought her children were asleep when she was unable to wake them.
“When I saw the fire I was scared and screamed,” she said.
A father is meant to be the safety of their children, protecting them from the pitfalls in this dangerous life. Instead, Mohammed was the very danger every child should be protected from. Our source believes his wife is not saying all she knows about Edris because although he will be in jail, she is scared of the possible repercussions of saying too much. That belief may be true, but may also be false. People who murder their children in the way done by Edris Mohammed are crazy. There would always be something that sparks an act of murder, but when the victims are the children of the perpetrator, the evil and worst side of human nature is revealed. Edris Mohammed killed his children because his anger against them had reached a boiling point his poor mental state could not handle. He chose not to control himself, and committed nthe worst crime of all.
His punishment will be to spend the rest of his life in jail. He will be sentenced tomorrow.
