Donald Trump has been accused of “incitement to violence” and threatened with obstruction charges as the impeachment investigation heats up.
The U.S president has been enraged by the whole impeachment process, but those pursuing one are not relaxing at all. Adam Schiff, chairman of the powerful House intelligence committee was on Wednesday piling up the pressure and intensifying his demands for full co-operation for the things requested. Trump went as far as saying that Schiff should be investigated for treason.
This is the second time the president has faced serious call for impeachment, The first was over the Mueller investigation in relation to possible collusion with Russian forces in illegally interfering with the 2016 U.S elections. The pace of that investigation looked dangerous for mr.Trump, but Mueller appeared to fold up in the end leaving the U.S president feeling triumphant,
The level of opposition against the president is strong here in the face of some of the undeniable claims against him. He may have more support than opposition to battle it all off.
SUBPOENA
Elijah Cummings, chair of the House oversight committee, revealed that it would issue a subpoena to the White House if it failed to hand over documents on contacts with Ukraine by Friday
“I do not take this step lightly,” Cummings said, saying the White House had stonewalled on demands for cooperation for several weeks. The U.S president is considered to have abused his position of power by seeking to use his governmental influence to achieve his political interests
.Them inquiry which started 8 days ago began over a complaint that Trump asked Ukranian president Zelenskiy to investigate Joe Biden, a leading rival for the White House in the 2020 election, while the US was withholding vital aid from Ukraine.
