David Beckham has defended criticisms against his son Cruz, who released a xmas song last week.
His cute 11 year old released the song ”if everyday was Christmas”, but the poor lad received a torrent of criticisms from both critics and haters who took exception to him taking advantage of his famous parents.
The money from the festive song is going to charity. Piers Morgan led the criticism on his Good Morning Britain show, saying the lad should be in school and not take the short cut to fame by riding on his parents name. He should have to graft like everybody else, Morgan said.
Some others went as far as accusing David and Victoria of “pimping” Cruz out. The latter claim is ridiculous because the Beckham’s have enough money not to need to pimp out their son. The handosme young lad probably just has a love for music that his parents thought why not just push it through?
Appearing on US TV show Good Morning America, David Beckham went on the attack against his critics.
“He’s 11 years-old, he’s still at school, he’s concentrating on school. That’s the most important thing, but he wanted to give back and he’s done this amazing little Christmas song.” “There’s nothing more to this than that at the moment,” Beckham said.
Beckham added: “It was his idea – and we’re proud!’ That says it all, and not more needs to be said in that regard. At 11 years of age, school should be the most important thing, but if a child of 11 also has a gift of singing or acting, there is no reason why he can’t explore that gift even at this early stage if it is in line with his ambition. He can also concentrate on his education at the same time, there is no shortage of money for tuition.
Cruz happens to be signed to Scooter Braun , the man who discovered Justin Bieber – so it sounds like there will be more feedback from critics on Cruz’s voice or how he should be at school. Provided he is in school and concentrating on his academics too, there is no problem. David Beckham is the father and so will know what direction to give his son. By the time he is 15 and ready to do his G.C.S.E’s, we will know if he has been serious all the while or not. If Cruz’s mind is in music, nothing will stop him even a this age.
