A nurse and her partner have been caught with an arsenal of weapons, thousands of pounds of cash and cocaine, have been jailed for over 15 years.

While executing a search warrant at 33-year-old Ayiab Mahmood and 28-year-old Toni Gibbons’ home in  Stratford, police discovered an arsenal of weapons, cash and drugs.

Trident officers found three firearms including an AK47 assault rifle, a semi-automatic handgun, a revolver and over 160 rounds of ammunition.
Nearly two kilograms of cocaine, which varied in purity between 80 and 90 per cent, and around £55,000 in cash, was also recovered. Gibbons, who was working as a nursery nurse, was wearing Prada trainers, a Rolex watch and carrying a Louis Vuitton handbag when she was arrested on Tuesday, September 6.
Mahmood was arrested three days later on Friday, 9 September.
At Snaresbrook Crown Court on Monday (December 12), he was sentenced to 12 years in prison after admitting a string of firearm and Class A drug offences.
Gibbons was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison after admitting her involvement in supplying Class A drugs and keeping criminal property.
Detective Inspector Steve Meechan said: “The high powered weapons and ammunition recovered in this case were destined for London’s criminal fraternity including those involved in gang violence.
“I have no doubt that removing them from circulation has prevented death or serious injury.
“The substantial custodial sentence handed down to this defendant today, should act as a significant deterrent to those involved in all aspects of gang-related crime.”
