Cannabis is only responsive for men, according to a new study for medical Marijuana
The study conducted by the University of Columbia claim men respond to cannabis better than women; a conclusion that comes across as sexist, but asserted to be true in light of conducted tests.
Researchers came to the conclusion after assessing 42 men and women by asking them to sample cannabis with THC and a placebo version without THC.
They subsequently asked the participants to put their hands in water until the could no longer withstand the pain.
The results showed that men showed more resistance to pain than women did. Scientists conducting the research concluded that the findings provide useful evidence for determining sex-dependent Psychoneuroendocrine effects of cannabis as a medical treatment.
The call for the legalisation of Marijuana has been going on for years, based on its purported medical advantages. Complicating its chances of success is any claim that it serves to benefit men more than women, as a medical tool.
Nevertheless, if that’s the facts then such is the case. How submerging your hands in water after consuming cannabis with THC and comparing it to the effects of consuming a placebo version without THC, is something only the scientists themselves can explain.
