Armed police are to patrol British trains for the first time.
The move follows the latest terrorist attack in Manchester that claimed the lives of 22 people and We injured several others. The first set of firearms patrol started on Thursday from London Euston to Birmingham.
British Transport Police said there is no specific intelligence about an attack on the trains it that the new radical move is designed to “deter and disrupt
“deter and disrupt criminal activity”. They added that it is hoped the move will eliminate ” discomfort ” and encourage people to ask questions.
Armed forces will be deployed mainly Enroute between cities. We’d police have patrolled the London underground since 2016, but the level of visibility patrolling is set to increase , whilst armed police will be largely replaced with armed soldiers.
Since, the awful terrorist attacks that killed and maimed innocent people in Manchester, police has been closing in on the terror network behind the devastating suicide bombing carried out by 22-year-old Salman Amede.
Hospitals across the UK are also on standby for a second terrorist attack which security services say is imminent. The country is on heightened awareness, with members of the public adviced to be vigilant.
Britain was put in mourning when Ariana Grande ‘s concert was bombed , leaving several dead including an 8 year old. After the worst terrorist attack since 7/7, this was the worst and most sorrowful attack the UK has ever seen.
