WBC heavyweight world champion Deontey Wilder blasted Tyson Fury in anger as he prepares to defend his title with mandatory challenger, Dominic Brezealle. The unbeaten champ in 41 fights was held to a surprise draw with Britain’s Tyson Fury when the pair met last December. In an angry twitter post, the Alabama native offered to update the brain of Tyson Fury whom he came close to knocking out during their contest at the Los Angeles Staple Centre in the U.S.
Fury made an incredible recovery from the devastating knock down which would have put most heavyweights out, and the fight ended in a draw. A rematch was highly anticipated until boxing politics turned up.
The pair were scheduled for a rematch around April or May when promoter Bob Arum intervened by offering a mega deal of about £80m for four fights to fight under his promotional banner. This automatically meant the rematch was off , although Arum said he plans to set the rematch towards the end of the year. American Wilder who was looking forward to defeating Fury convincingly in the rematch, and earning a huge pay day hasn’t been too pleased with developments. One thing Wilder cannot say for sure is whether he would not have lost the rematch if it was not cancelled.
Fury is a very difficult man for any heavyweight to beat outright, as Wilder himself found out, and the gypsy king would have even been better for their rematch because of the experience of the first fight, and his increased fitness that would have come with the extra experience coming from his two and a half year lay off.Wilder feels differently, and would believe he would have won their rematch if it happened. The Bronze bomber has never avoided anybody in the heavyweight division, and deserves to be the main money maker for that reason.
After Fury , who must be feeling on top of the world, posted tweets claiming to have been offered a £100m contract by Arum, Wilder must have been very annoyed. He wasted no time in attacking the gypsy king on twitter.
“Yea, the rumors are true @Tyson_Fury I knocked you into a concussion,” Wilder wrote in a Twitter post. “Let me update your brain. I got receipts and it says [you’re] a lying rat #OnMoses. We’ll see who needs who and I’m telling you it’s going to hurt but you’ll get over it. Meanwhile Let me drop this receipt #ExcuseMe.”
Wilder would shortly follow up with this Tweet directed at Fury, including a video of Arum sort of disputing the amount of money Fury is set to earn under his new deal…
stop being a CloutChasingHoe @Tyson_Fury. Your boss said that’s not close to being accuracte. In fact that deal was made off the hopes of a rematch with me and if I don’t bless you again [you’re] F***d you big boring no power #Dosser. I’m the Champ but hey don’t take my word just wait…”
Meanwhile, Britain’s Dillian Whyte, whose only loss is to unbeaten four belt champion, Anthony Joshua, is shocked he has been bypassed to allow Breazeale to face Wilder. Joshua recently knocked out Anthony Joshua in a sensational 11th round knock out in December, and was expecting a shot at Joshua’s world title belts. However, Joshua was instead matched with Jaymie Miller in Newyork for June 1st. Whyte is said to be loosing patience with Eddie and Barry Hearn, both of whom are handling his career
