Amazon set to launch competitive online supermarket services

By Lucy Caulkett

Amazon is set to launch a full online supermarket service at more competitive prices than main groceries.

From today, Thursday, 9th June, Amazon-prime countries in central and East London will be able to download an online full weekly shop fit delivered the same day. The service will be delivered right across the UK.

They have recently struck a deal with Morrison, in which it will make hundreds of products and services available through their website.

The new deal will enable many countries to shop from over 130,000 products that include fresh fruits and vegetables, cereals, pasta, and even nappies.

Though limited to 69 post codes in London, Amazons online service is expected to eventually be accessible right across the country.

Interestingly, Amazon’s online supermarket is expected to deliver goods and services at more competitive prices than main grocers in what has been described by they’re representatives as a disruptive game changer.
