Trevor Cliff The Ex Boxer Buried 5 Months After Death

By Gavin Mackintosh-

Ex-boxer, Trevor Cliff was buried 5 months after he died in Southend Essex.

The well-known drinker was found slumped behind the public toilets near Sainsbury’s in May, in what was believed to be a heart attack.

Cliff was well known in the community and was a daily drinker. He often found himself in situations that led to fights, often sporting a black eye and speaking in a dragged husky tone. Following his death, there was plenty of speculation among locals as to whether there was any foul play involved in his death. The fact he was formerly a boxer made him stand out to many of those who knew him, even though he was unheralded.

Boxer

A boxer or ex- boxer always carries weight  in the minds of people even when they were not an accomplished boxer. This is because boxing is a tough sport, and most people respect the dedication and toughness of heart involved in being a boxer.

Essex police conducted further investigations into his death, his body not released for burial until very recently. Locals in the area who listen to our internet radio- the eye of destiny radio- got in touch about a month ago to express frustration about the delay surrounding the release of his body for burial.

When the eye of media.com contacted Essex police at the time, we were told that they had no part in any delay to do with his burial. In fact, their press office had no record of Trevor Cliff’s death until we told them the exact date of his death. Simply typing his name into their computer produced no informative results.

Ex boxer Trevor Cliff had a complicated life. He boxed for England as a youth but became alcoholic following relationships breakdowns and problems in his family as a child.  Cliff lost his step- daughter Danielle Lawrence in Holloway Prison 2 years ago and hit the drink more when that happened. Lawrence was officially said to have committed suicide, but Trevor Cliff was adamant that his step -daughter would never have killed herself and that the prison was hiding valuable information.

At the time of her death, Trevor Cliff

A few hundred people turned up at Trevor Cliff’s funeral, according to sources to the eye of media.com. And though he is dead and buried, painful questions remain about the  cause of his death. The eye of media.com heard Trevor Cliff was given legal high before collapsing and dying whilst intoxicated with alcohol.

The individual who contacted the eye of media.com with this information is yet to hook us up with someone who can verify that Cliff was given legal high before his death. She wants Trevor Cliff’s death not to be in vain and says the dangers of legal high needs to be continuously highlighted in order to save lives in future.

Trevor Cliff first came into contact with the eye of media.com in  2014 in Leigh On Sea Essex, when members of our team were giving out leaflets. His step -daughter had just died in Holloway prison and he begged us to investigate. The eye of media.com conducted an investigation, followed up by the Sunday Mirror, one of UK’s best selling papers.

However, as the story was preparing to go to press, the mother  of Danielle Lawrence, Sue Lawrence, pulled the plug under the story, after her friends advised her not to involve the press. This did not dissuade Trevor Cliff, who despite not co-operating with the story at the time, asked us to dig deeper into the cause of Danielle Lawrence’s death.

The eye of media.com began the investigation but met resistant walls at Holoway prison, eventually discontinuing it. However, the green light has been given for a re-opening of that investigation which 3 of our writers will look into throughly. Now Trevor Cliff is dead, it is the least we can do.
