PHOENIX, AZ — The widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has vowed to continue his work through the right-wing movement he founded, speaking publicly for the first time since his assassination.
An emotional Erika Kirk paid tribute to her husband on Friday, just two days after he was fatally shot. Addressing her husband, Kirk promised to make the conservative youth group Turning Point USA “the biggest thing this nation has ever seen.” She added, “I promise I will never let your legacy die.”

The defiant address from Kirk comes as the suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson of Utah, remains in police custody. Robinson is expected to appear virtually in court for the first time on Tuesday. Authorities have yet to confirm a motive for the shooting, fueling a fierce public debate over political violence that has been exacerbated by the spread of false and misleading claims online.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has offered his support to FBI Director Kash Patel, who has faced criticism over his handling of the manhunt. Patel, a Trump loyalist with less experience than previous FBI directors, is scheduled to answer questions about the investigation in Congress.
