Three suspects linked to the heart-wrenching death of 10-year-old Sara Sharif have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The young girl’s father, Urfan Sharif, her stepmother Beinash Batool, and her uncle Faisal Malik were apprehended upon their arrival at Gatwick Airport from Dubai, leaving a trail of questions and suspicion in their wake.

The arrests came after Sara Sharif’s lifeless body was discovered at her residence in Woking, Surrey, on August 10th.

The three suspects who lived with the young girl, left the UK for Pakistan the day before police found Sara’s body.

A post-mortem examination found she had sustained multiple and extensive injuries.

A phone call to emergency services had been made by a man who identified himself as Sara’s father, but the twist in this tale lay in the fact that the call had been placed from Pakistan.

Detective Superintendent Mark Chapman of Surrey Police delivered a statement confirming the arrests, stating, “Two men, aged 41 years and 28 years, and a woman, aged 29 years, were arrested on suspicion of murder after disembarking a flight from Dubai. They are currently in custody and will be interviewed in due course.”

The trio had boarded an Emirates flight from Pakistan, via Dubai, which touched down at Gatwick airport shortly after 7.30 pm. Their arrest marked the culmination of a high-stakes international manhunt, as they had fled the UK immediately following the young girl’s tragic death.

The swift apprehension upon their return has only intensified suspicions surrounding their involvement in the case.
