A young footballer took his own life after discovering his late mother was a victim of a necrophiliac double killer, an inquest heard.
Jay Carr, 20,(pictured) from Snodland, in Kent, suffered from mental health problems when he was told by police his mother Jordana, who died in 2015, had been abused by double murderer David Fuller after her death. Carr was devastated when he heard the news.
Fuller, who murdered two women in 1987, sexually assaulted at least 100 corpses in mortuaries where he worked, between 2008 and 2020.
The footballer’s sister, Ashlee, speaking outside County Hall following the inquest today, revealed that their family had been rocked by a series of tragic events, including his mother’s death and his grandmother being killed by her partner.
Speaking outside Maidstone County Hall following the inquest, Mr Carr’s sister, Ashlee, paid tribute to her brother and said their family had been rocked by a series of tragic events.
She said: “My brother Jay was just 13 when our mother died. He took it extremely badly, and for a number of years struggled with serious mental health issues.
“As he reached adulthood he was doing much better. He had a stable job as a car valet, had a loving girlfriend, Millie, and had a close connection with his football team.
“In October 2021 out of the blue my father and I were notified that my mother’s body was abused by David Fuller, whilst under the care of Pembury Hospital.
“We felt pressured by the police officers who notified us to tell Jay and his siblings. Despite telling the officers of Jay’s vulnerability, they insisted that he be told, which he was later that night, in graphic detail.”
Mr Carr went missing on Sept 17 2022, and was found dead on Sept 20, having taken his own life.
Jay was just 13 when his teacher mother Jordana Carr hanged herself while talking to her ex-boyfriend on FaceTime. Jordana had suffered a history of mental health issues after her mother, Maria Colaco, was murdered by her lover on New Year’s Eve in 2009.
According to Ashlee, Jay took their deaths ‘extremely badly’. His mental health ‘deteriorated’ and Jay ‘became obsessed with David Fuller, and what he had done to our mother’s body’
