Eight former Met Police officers have admitted gross misconduct after being part of a WhatsApp group which shared sexist, racist, misogynistic and homophobic messages, as the list of offending behaviour by cops continues to emerge.
The Met officers were part of a group in a WhatsApp group called “secret squirrel s**t, and also” sent other discriminatory “messages, memes and videos” that were so serious they merit dismissal, a misconduct hearing was told.
Offensive remarks were also posted in chats about people with disabilities, including Katie Price’s son Harvey,(pictured) who was born blind.
The shocking revelation adds to a long list of longstanding misconduct by the Met- a force sadly beset by too many rotten apples, compromising the expected standard of integrity and professionalism necessary to maintain and honourable police force.
A misconduct hearing held in Fulham, west London, was told that between 2016 and 2018, the unsavoury group shared deplorable messages, memes, and videos in what was described as a “toxic, abhorrent culture”.
Sexual violence against women was applauded in one of the messages, with a police officer who “once got away with rape”, described by a disgraceful colleague as “a legend in my eyes”, the panel heard.
Dan Hobbs, the barrister representing the Met in aid of securing a kids glove dismissal against the officers who were based at Bexley, said the group had exchanged “toxic” messages that were sexist, racist and homophobic, and included derogatory references to the disabled mixed race son of the model Katie Price.
Hobbs told the hearing that other messages included references to women as “silly slags” and “spunk rags” and that racist content included a description of a holiday resort as having “lots of black” as a “drawback” of going there. The level of hostility exhibited by the officers beggars belief that they once wore uniforms as law enforcement agents.
In other messages, a sergeant, Luke Thomas, had made offensive comments about a junior female colleague, calling her “ugly” and referred to her as “it”.
The hearing also heard that the vile officer had suggested naming his dog either “Auschwitz”, “Adolf” or “Fred” or “Ian” after “my two favourite child sex killers”.
Mr Thomas, the most senior officer in the group, also made several posts about Ms Price’s son Harvey, which included mocking his weight, the hearing heard. Mr Price suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome and autism and is unable to control his weight.
Disciplinary Panel
Christopher McKay, chairing a three-strong disciplinary panel which will decide the officers’ fate, said the fact that some of the accused had resigned “is not a way of removing themselves from the disciplinary process” and that the cases involved alleged misconduct so serious that it warranted dismissal.
Those accused of gross misconduct include two serving officers, PC Glynn Rees and an “Officer B”’ whose identity was being kept secret for unexplained reasons.
Others offenders include former Sergeant Luke Thomas, former Acting Sergeant Luke Allen, former PC Kelsey Buchan, former PC Carlo Francisco, former PC Lee South, and former PC Jenner.
Mr Hobbs said that four of the former officers, Mr Thomas, Mr Allen, Mr Francisco and Mr South had admitted gross misconduct and should be treated as dismissed, despite their resignation from the force, and barred from any future service in the police.
He said the Met’s case was that the three officers who had only admitted misconduct- former PC Buchan and the still serving- Officer B and PC Rees, should also be found guilty of gross misconduct and barred from policing, along with the eighth officer, PC Jenner, who had not engaged with the proceedings.
Black Lives Matters Protesters
Mr Hobbs said former Sergeant Thomas had also described Black Lives Matter protesters as “c***ts” and made the racist generalisation that people were a “thousand times for likely to be killed by a black guy than a copper”.
The former sergeant, who left the force last week, and former officers Luke Allen and Lee South, admit gross misconduct for all allegations.
Four other former and serving officers, Carlo Francisco, Kelsey Buchan, Glynn Rees and an officer who cannot be named, partially admit the allegations.
The fact another former officer, Darren Jenner, did not engage with the misconduct proceedings was construed to amount to a lack of admission he was guilty of either misconduct or gross misconduct.
The latest revelations exposing the depth of depravity in Britain’s police force accentuates the arduous task facing police bosses and the government, in its desperate need to overhaul a force laden with many sick individuals unfit for such an important post.
The Eye Of Media.Com has in the past few months told The Metropolitan Police Force and its bosses, Police Commissioners across the Uk, and The Mayor of London, to devise a feasible strategy to clean up its shamefully embarrassing police force, by instituting a strong framework that prevents misfits from the joining the force.
At the moment, it is difficult to distinguish honourable police officers from the wayward delinquents among them who pose as officers, but are sheep in wolves clothing.
Last week, Ms Price published a letter from the Met on her Instagram account, informing her a group of officers would face gross misconduct proceedings.
The hearing continues.
