The body of Missing Samantha has been found, one week after the mother of four disappeared. Her body was found in a lake in the Hamworthy area of Poole. Sadly, her partner, Dominic Isom, has been charged with her mother has been charged with her murder. He appeared at Winchester court and pleaded not guilty to her murder. Not much is being disclosed by police about the basis of charging him but they must have irrefutable evidence of guilt.
Police sometimes use can make inferences from circumstantial evidence that surround an individual’s disappearance or death, as well as the performance of the individual during interviews. Whenever partners of a murdered victim are convicted or even accused of their murder, it serves as a grim reminder of the potential risks of entering into a relationship with someone, especially someone not well known to one party in the relationship. There is no suggestion this is the case, though investigations conducted by eye of media has revealed that there had been a history of domestic violence between the pair. The question I find myself asking is why women who are victims of domestic violence continue in the relationship. Seems a logical question, though I myself have in the past continued with a man who had subjected me to spells of domestic violence.
The underlying rationale to such continuance is a bit of stupidity, but also that intangible thing called love. Some say it is infatuation, but when it culminates in a brutal fatal attack, it is not funny. Whilst I must not jump to conclusion that this man is guilty of her murder, I cannot help say that if the police have charged him without finding a body, then I suspect him too. Tis is not an unreasonable conclusion to arrive at in light of the circumstances and history of the pair from the two day investigation conducted by eye of media. Let’s hope we are wrong. Nonetheless, as my bones shiver at this story, for fear that another woman who thought she loved a man or who fell for his spell of words or actions may have paid dearly with her life is a frightening thought. The reason all women must always be careful what they wish for
