BREXIT OUTCOME MAY ENDANGER NATIONAL SECURITY

By BEN KERRIGAN

The European arrest warrant which allows the rapid extradition of suspects  between European Union countries will vanish, following the national Brexit vote.

Our fast track access to Europe’s DNA’ and finger print database will vanish too. If that’s not enough to underline the danger that our Brexit vote will inflict on us, consider the Death of our involvement with Europol.

The one good news for Brexiters is that Britain will no longer be under the umbrella of the European Courts of justice. Foreign criminals will therefore be deported at the command of any British judge.

However, whether the interest of national security is a worthy price to pay for the unhindered freedom of our courts, is a crucial question. However, only time will tell whether the concern of national security can be competently addressed by other measures. The years ahead will tell an interesting story.
