Mike Pence Under Increasing Pressure To Remove Trump

By Aaron Miller-

Top congressional Democrats – Speaker Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer – have urged Vice-President Mike Pence and Mr Trump’s cabinet to remove the president for “his incitement of insurrection”.

Threats for a second impeachment of the U.S president have been already been  made, and top U.S Attorney are also examining the possibility of criminal charges against President Trump for the incitement of insurrection.

Mr Pence  is reportedly reluctant to remove Trump,  and would need to invoke the 25th Amendment.

The 25th Amendment permits the vice-president to become acting president when a president is unable to continue his duties, due to mental incapacitation,  physical, or mental illness.

The part of the amendment being discussed is section four, which allows the vice-president and a majority of the cabinet to declare President Trump unable to perform his duties.

Representatives and the Senate declaring the president unfit to govern, or incapable “of discharging the powers and duties of his office”. At this point, Mr Pence would automatically take over.

The Assistant speaker of the House had said a Trump impeachment vote will take place next week, if Mike Pence does not remove the president for inciting an insurrection on Capitol Hill.

There is a  strong fear that President Trump could do something shocking in the short time he has for the end of his presidency, with experts constantly inquiring that there are safe parameters around the president, to make sure there are sufficient constraints around the president.

On Thursday, president Trump denounced the actions of the violent mobs, in a television presentation in which he said they would pay through the force of the law. His believed tailor made address was a sign of the president’s sudden realisation of the seriousness of his actions.

Legal analysts will make a deal about his words to the crowd at a rally before the siege of Capitol Hill, and the fact he described the mobs as ”special people” , later adding, we love you”.
