Budding actor, Idris Elba, has reportedly split from long-term girlfriend and mother of his 22 months old son, Naiyana Garth.
The news comes after the actor recently won best actor gongs at the British film awards only last week. Elba, who recently kicked a good fuss about discrimination in the Oscar awards by highlighting the lack of diversity is at the height of a glittering career with everything moving in the right direction so far.
Yet, just when celebrities seem to be shining in every corner of their life, there is often a but that waters down the glitter and glamor that surrounds their celebrated name. Whilst there is no magical formula for making a relationship work, once children come into the equation it is always far more desirable for both parties to make it work. Elba has a 13 year old daughter from another relationship who was present at the event where he received his latest award, which is a good sign he is at least on good terms with his teenage daughter.
However, when two relationships go wrong where kids are involved, it looks bad on the fella. The ladies may be doing something wrong, but guys, we got to point the finger stronger in the man’s direction here. And what a bad time for this news to come out.

Popular Elba is believed to have struck up a good relationship with glamor model, Naomi Campbell, with whom he struck a good relationship after meeting up her at a fashion for charity event in 2014, and this good be one factor in the split up even though his baby mother may well have been a contributor to the eventual split.
Once on the cards for the prestigious 007 role, 43 year old Elba is reported to have moved out of the London home he shared with Naiyana. The noticeable absent of Naiyana at the awards, about whom Elba made not a single reference to in his thank you speech, strongly supports the view that the pair have finally come to the end of their road together. It would not have helped that sexy Naomi Campbell sent Elba a congratulatory message on Twitter for his award saying he deserved the award. Now, when a woman sees the father of her baby with a pretty girl like Campbell, it is not going to be easy to convince her it is just friendship going on there. Here is speculation at its best, but whilst we congratulate Elba for his latest awards and fight for diversity, it is still a big disappointment that two relationships with kids have gone with the wind.
