24 YEAR OLD AMERICAN WOMAN MAKES VIRAL VIDEO MIXING WINE WITH FITNESS

A 24-year-old Northern California mum has made a video mixing wine and exercise which has gone viral online, and viewed by over 20 million people.

April Storey made a 15 second video depicting her unorthodox training technique involving wine, showing how she generated a disciplined training schedule out of it. In an interview with local station, KRCR, she stated that her busy, multi-tasking life was the inspiration for the video now dubbed “Wine Workout.”

Storey said, “I was getting ready to do a workout, and I saw the wine there and I’m like, ‘You know, that would be kind of funny to incorporate wine into this workout video.'”

She says she incorporates many everyday items in her workouts – not just alcohol.

The spread of the video was sparked by the influence of “Star Trek” actor and online star, George Takei posted Storey’s video with a caption saying “quit wine-ing and work out” to his nine million followers. It spread uncontrollably from there. The exercise itself is not necessarily one to be recommended because of the potential danger of hurting one’s self, but the desire, determination and creativity that went into this deserves much praise.

Storey’s objective to promote healthy living through her videos is inspiring, and she may well become an overnight star from this very initiative. She said, “What I want to show people with my videos is that fitness is something you can do every day, you can do it anywhere, and you can use anything.” Well done Story, we salute you!
