Vodaphone remains one of the worst mobile networks, best avoided where other options are available.
Today, Vodaphone was forced to apologise after sending erroneous messages to customers charging them thousands of pounds for bills they had not even incurred. The excess charge may not have been rectified if done on a lower scale without the alarm, that comes with media coverage after such a widespread failing.
Some customers were charged as high as £10,000 after using their devices abroad.
The company , notorious for its high level of incompetence apologised for the serious error.
“We are very sorry a technical issue has impacted some customers’ data and voice services whilst roaming,” the company wrote on Twitter.
“You may have also received an incorrect charges message. We are working hard to fix this issue as soon as possible.
Our customers’ will not be incorrectly billed.”
The apology came after several customers had been threatened with being cut off unless they settle roaming charges amounting to thousands of pounds. Yet, the app had crashed over the weekend, leaving them unable to check their charges.
The company told the customer that it had run “a software update overnight which seems to have caused the issue”.
“We’ve since resolved this and most customers are finding their services have returned after restarting their phones,” said Vodafone.
In April 2019, Vodaphone was named the Uk’s worst mobile network for the eight year in a row- an absolute disgrace!
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMPLAINTS HANDLING
One in five Vodafone customers reported poor customer service, including handling of complaints and queries. Some 13 per cent said the firm’s technical support was poor and 19 per cent rated it as poor value for money. Giffgaff was rated the most popular provider with 80 per cent of customers paying less than £10 for their sim-only contract and 95 per cent rating the firm as good or excellent on value for money.
