A Conservative MP appears to have shamed his public position after being kicked out of his own party’s conference in Manchester .
The incident in which Sir Geoffrey Clifton Brown was involved in an altercation with security was described as “totally unacceptable” , and led to a lock-down of part of the venue.
Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown attempted to bring a lady into the conference believed to be his girlfriend, but she did not have the relevant pass into one of the conference’s lounges. The lady was refused entry by door staff, leading to an argument between security staff and Mp Sir Geoffrey and who must have believed being an MP gave him an infinite right to go where he wanted with whom he wanted.
Details of exactly how the argument developed have not been given. The incidence led to further restrictions to journalists and other dignitaries. Only last week, parliamentary Mps were rebuked for UK Church leaders for behaving appallingly in the Commons over the Supreme Court rulings that went against the government which led to name calling and abusive behaviour.
