Massage Therapy is so much more than a pamper treatment.
It brings so much value and has innumerable benefits to the body, the nerves, and the mind. A good massage can even open up your receptors to sharper and better ideas being blocked by a situation or set of circumstances. We are all at some point in our lives susceptible to emotions caused by something that has occurred that later becomes stressful.
A massage can help break down feelings of strain and aches, allowing the body to move once again with more ease and comfort. A message is a special treat, or pamper session that feels good and is incredibly therapeutic.
A well-conducted massage helps attain a very relaxed state of mind. A human connection is created through caring touch that enables our bodies to release a happy hormone called Oxytocin. This hormone has a feel good factor and is also released when we hug a loved one or bond with someone. Oxytocin is helpful in overcoming any anxieties, depression, insomnia, stress and general unbalance and leave you feeling more glowing and positive!
In today’s day of advanced modern technology, we have been enabled to connect with others in other parts of the world in a way previously not possible. However, the irony is that many people can still be left feeling lonely and disconnected from others. Interaction through social media helps connections greatly, but Facebook, Twitter, Messaging, and Whats App, are all limited in their full capability.
These social media platforms can actually act as a barrier to actual human contact. The physical contact with other humans produces more of our happy hormones – Oxytocin, Serotonin and Dopamine, which will otherwise less produced ultimately making us feel flatter, sadder and more isolated.
Dopamine is one of the happy hormones that really makes you feel great! Dopamine is an innate part of our bodies reward system, which is also responsible for the feel good factor we sometimes get when we binge eat. This feel good factor temporarily counteracts the sadness, though binge eating is never advisable because it is unhealthy.
Massage Therapy Produces Happy Hormones
Regular massage therapy helps to release happy hormones, effectively addressing and alleviating stressful feelings. Stress and it’s effect on your adrenaline levels. In today’s modern age, most of our stresses are mental or emotional, affecting our body and peace of mind in the process. Stress can be caused by a number of factors that range from financial issues to relational issues to professional or academic workload- all is stressful and can be relieved to a large degree by massage Therapy.
Massage Therapy Overcomes Stress
Stress is apparently one of the biggest cause of disease in today’s society. The physical body begins to become overburdened and cannot cope. This, especially if it is always in a heightened state of awareness and adrenaline. Massage therapy enables us to feel so relaxed that we begin to have or create positive ideas about how to overcome any stress.
Relaxation, thinking and re-balance are all absolutely imperative for our health. Massage therapy does a better job than painkillers most of the time. It is advisable for people to have massage therapy at least once a month, although there are people who have massage therapy every week, or even a couple of times a week.
