Kate Hopkins has been booted off LBC radio after a tweet to This Morning, asking for a final solution to the terrorism that led to 22 deaths in Manchester.
Her choice of words was open to interpretation, but interpretation of a person’s words often goes hand in hand with what we know about them.
Kate Hopkins has courted controversy on several occasions in the past. It is nothing new to her. In April 2015, Hopkin as a Sun newspaper columnist compared migrants to ‘cockroaches’, and ‘feral humans’.
She added that they were ‘spreading like the norovirus’. She also wrote that gunships should be used to stop migrants from crossing the Mediterranean.
The bigger surprise is why the Sun news editor did not reprimand her and edit out her clearly inappropriate and seemingly racist comments- they may have wanted her to be herself and be seen for who she was. Actually, she should have got the boot then.

TV Interview
Two years earlier in 2013, Hopkins appeared on This Morning and said she would stop her children playing with other kids based on their names. She admitted telling her young kids, Philip and Holly she had a particular dislike for ‘lower class’ names like ‘Charmaine, Chantelle, and Chardonnay’, adding she did not like ‘geographical location names’ either despite having a daughter named India. The stupidity of her advice to young children gave a glimpse into her immature mind, despite big numbers behind her age.
This time, viewers and programme makers on LBC had heard enough. The search for a final solution to a terrible act as bad as the Manchester massacre could only be viewed to mean a negotiation with terrorists or a war against Muslims , or elimination of them from society.
The precise meaning of her words can only be speculated, but it seemed clearly inappropriate. Listeners were offended at her comments, but some understandably saw her sacking as an attack on free speech. A full explanation of what she meant could have been demanded, but her track record of stupid discriminatory comments meant LBC bosses didn’t want to take another chance on her.
