Islamic State Call For Ramadan Terrorist Attacks

By Tim Parsons-

The Islamic state group (IS) have called for terrorist attacks on all ”infidels” at the start of Ramadan due to begin tomorrow, Saturday.

The call comes as Police announced they have arrested an 18 year old among a number of others after raids at a number of UK addresses. Ramadan is meant to be a holy month of fasting for Muslims, but extremist groups believe it should also be used to wage a war against the West through terrorist attacks.

Uk’s top counter terrorist officer spoke of “significant arrests and finds” in their Manchester investigation. Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley confirmed that ‘’ a large part” of the terror network they believed bomber Salman Abedi to be part of have been arrested. More arrests are likely, according to Rowley, who said the police are working actively in their best interest.

Mr Rowley also said the public should be “100% confident” they are doing everything possible to protect them. The commitment of the police to root out terrorism in our midst cannot be doubted because anybody’s friend or family can fall victim to a terrorist attack. Over 1,300 events in the country have been reviewed by police, according to the police chief.

SUSPICION OF TERROR

8 men between the ages of 18 and 38 are in custody on suspicion of terror offences, in connection with Monday’s attack at the city’s Arena that killed 22 people. Abedi is said to have moved to Libya at the age of 14 for training according to a school friend.

One of his former teachers, Mark Roberts, told the Times Educational Supplement that Abedi was an “averagely lazy, dislikeable boy” who refused to do his coursework on time, but he showed no signs of any radical tendencies. Security minister , Ben Wallace, told the BBC there were between 400 and 500 active investigations into people plotting or engaged with plots to attack the UK, covering 3,000 individuals.

Security officials also believe there are between 12,000 and 18,000 people in the same category as Abedi- a scary thought to contemplate.

It is no wonder the threat of another attack was raised to severe, indicating it is imminent. British police say they are closing in on the terrorist network behind the Manchester attacks, but have expressed concerns that Salman Abedi may have himself been the bomb maker and may have distributed his knowledge or other devices around his circle of like minded friends.

Abedi is believed to have headed to Libya for training when he was 14 before returning to the UK to nurture his atrocious plans. His head teacher in school described him as a ”dislikeable” student who never did his coursework, but who was not known to have extremist views. officers are people, and themselves have loved ones, so will do their best to protect the public without fail. Having lost two of their colleagues- one in the Westminster terrorist attack, and another in Manchester, they know the urgency of attending to the terrorist threat facing the West . Saturday right through to bank holiday Monday will be a time for great vigilance, although police chiefs have told the public to go and enjoy themselves without worry. The outright call for Ramadan attacks shows the ongoing threat and war posed by terrorists, but the security services have already done a marvellous job in thwarting so many other attempts to cause harvoc on our streets.
