WBC champion, Deontey Wilder says he can’t wait to eventually knock out Anthony Joshua and make doubters look like fools. The WBC champion dismissed Joshua’s claims the American is avoiding the multi belt champion who defends his world title against Andy Ruiz Jnr tomorrow in Newyork.
Wilder told LA Times that he tried to arrange a face time conversation with Joshua, but the brit refused.
Wilder said: “I’ve tried to do it privately with some mutual friends. [Joshua] did not want to do it without someone there with him on FaceTime conversation.
“Why would you want to do that? It’s me and you. Are you scared of me or something? This whole thing of, ‘We’ve got to sit down’ – they’re just saying something, man.
“At the end of the day, I do not have a boss. Joshua has a boss, Matchroom Boxing.
“You know when it’s real and you know when someone’s just talking. We’ve spoke before for four months.
Wilder added: “No matter what people think, when it comes to the night of the fight and I knock [Joshua] out, the ones who doubted are going to look like a fool.
“I cannot wait for that moment to come. We’ve got a plan. We’re doing our thing.
“When they’re ready, let’s make it happen. I’ve been trying to make this fight. When they’re ready, I’ll be ready. ”
AWESOME
Wilder looked awesome when he destroyed Dominic Breazeale in one round 2 weeks ago with enormous power. The powerful American looked more dangerous than usual, with an extra 8lbs of pure muscle added to his 6ft 7 1/2 inch chiselled frame. The American recently announced a contract has been signed for him to fight Cuban heavyweight, Louis Ortiz, who he stopped in 10 rounds last year after nearly being stopped himself in the 7th round. The rematch will give a measurable comparison to their first encounter, but poses a risk against the still highly anticipated clash with Joshua which may now happen in 2020.
