British troops will not be sent to fight against Russia, Defence Secretary Ben Wallace has confirmed.
Wallace said any direct against the Russian Military action would trigger a European war, as an attack on UK troops would be seen as an attack on the alliance. He called Russia’s assault a “naked, aggressive, military invasion”.
The defence secretary said: “I’m not putting British troops directly to fight Russian troops. That would trigger a European war because we are a Nato country and Russia would therefore be attacking Nato.”
He said while this was something he could not and would not do – he would “help Ukraine fight every street with every piece of equipment we can get to them, and we will support them”.
Mr Wallace said the UK has trained more than 20,000 Ukrainians, provided them with lethal capabilities, which they are using right now, as Forces Minister, James Heappey, told the House of Commons that further troops were being sent to Estonia earlier than planned to help the Nato ally.
Mr Heappey said “British and Nato troops should not and must not play an active role”, adding that any miscalculation could escalate quickly and spiral out of control. The invasion of Ukraine has drawn world wide criticism against President Putin’s dictatorship regime, which has been in power since May 2012-nearly 10 years. The Russian leader is known for presiding over a corrupt and evil regime which is believed to have covertly authorised killings both on home soil and in other countries.
President Vladimir Putin is also said to have ordered an influential campaign in 2016, aimed at the distorting the outcome of the U.S. presidential election. Russia’s goals were found to have sought to undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process, denigrate Secretary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency. Its latest invasion of Ukraine is a typical expression of Russian’s historical bullying practices.
Since the invasion began in the early hours of Thursday, 194 Ukrainians – including 57 civilians – have been killed, Mr Heappey added. Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday morning, pledging more support in coming days.

Mario Draghi was accused for putting the mass sale of posh shoes over punitive measures against Putin as EU nations ‘disgraced themselves’ with a failure to take a hardline approach to sanctions against Russia.
The Italian leader was accused of frustrating British and American efforts to kick Russia out of the world’s biggest financial payments system.
In a call with G7 leaders yesterday, Boris Johnson pressed the case for suspending Russia from Swift, which is used to conduct about half of its international trade.
