Vodafone’s New director Brian Humpries has a lot of mess to clear up.
Humphries officially starts his position early in February next year and will report directly to the mobile communications Group chief executive Vittorio Colao. The role was previously occupied by Nick Jeffery, who was appointed Vodafone UK chief executive in July.
It has been just 5 months since then and they have somebody new in place. Vodafone has been the disappointment of thousands of customers, after being charged £4.6, by ofcom last months for overcharging customers and failing to respond to the complaints of several of its heavily let down customers.
It wasn’t until several complaints were made before ofcom were forced to investigate, eventually charging the giant company heavily for their disgraceful level of negligence and incompetence. More is expected of any network provider whom customers pay monthly rates for a service they expect to be good.
Humphries’ new position will require him to look after Vodafone Group’s enterprise business both in the UK and internationally, alongside its Internet of Things (IoT) division.
Humpries will need to first ensure that customers are being charged correctly and that there is complaint procedure in Vodafone that is frequently attended to, and not just carelessly brushed aside as many of the irresponsible staff at Vodaphone have done.
It just won’t be good enough for him to just come on the scene with the view of making money and holding a top position, he will be tasked with ensuring the Vodafone leads a professional and responsible role.
Vodafone has gone from being one of the highly regarded networks in the U.K to being one of the most shunned , and it can only be hoped that Humpries is able to revive public confidence in Vodaphone.
