A violent thug was jailed for 30 months after being caught on camera stamping on a man’s head in a hospital accident and emergency department.
Evil Aiden Mercer was jailed after a shocked court heard how he violently attack attacked a man in full view of an elderly lady who was present at the scene. He also threatened the victim with a wooden pole in an attack done in full view at Leeds General Infirmary hospital. Mercer, who has convictions for multiple robberies, pleaded guilty to affray and threatening with an offensive weapon.
The victim refused to co-operate with a police investigation about the attack after police found him in severe injury, but the defendant stated that the victim had robbed his sister. Some in the area say the victim had robbed the sister of the defendant in the past, explaining why he did not press any charges himself against the defendant, Aiden Mercer.
Mercer was visibly in an argument with the man who was eating food in the reception area, after which he punched the man in the face. The victim fell to the ground and Mercer stamped on his head. Mr Smith said Mercer had a two-foot long wooden pole in the back of his trousers which he took out and used it to threaten the man as he “cowered” on the floor. He left the vicinity but returned to it to continue his threat against the man with the weapon. Footage of the incident revealed a very angry man who had no regard for the fact he was in a hospital which is likely to have live cameras.
QC Miller, mitigating for Mercier, said his client from St. John’s hostel, Hyde Park Road, could not remember why he was in the hospital but believes he was making his way home, along with the victim who also lives in the nearby hostel. He claims to have been inebriated, which is believable when dealing with low lifers who can consume excess amounts of alcohol to keep them ticking until they are so off their face that they conduct themselves in the worst possible way for every situation they are in.
The stupidity of Mercer’s attack was so violent that one official at Leeds Crown Court told The Eye Of Media.Com, that his actions show signs of schizophrenia. ”I must be careful not to say that Mercer suffers from Schizphrenia, so we doesn’t surprise me with a claim of defamation, but it is reasonable to say his actions reveal symptoms of a person suffering from something serious. Nobody in their right man would launch that kind of attack in an hospital, they would have to not have a brain to attack someone like that in a hospital which everyone should expect to have cameras.
Schizophrenia is a common mental disorder present in a lot of individuals on the streets, who blend like normal people but actually have a loose screw worsened by drug and alcohol abuse, but sometimes confused as just being a reflection of the latter two. Common symptoms include false beliefs, a disjointed or confused thinking, hearing voices, reduced social engagement and emotional expression and many other disturbing traits easily confused for something else. Mercer was lucky to escape with such a light sentence for his attack.
