Veteran broadcaster Eamonn Holmes expressed gratitude to viewers for their support following the news of his separation from Ruth Langsford. Holmes addressed the headlines about his divorce during his return to GB News’ breakfast show on Tuesday after the bank holiday weekend.
“Just before we move on, I would like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation,” Holmes said. “Your support for both of us is very much appreciated.”

The couple, who have been together for nearly 14 years, announced their split over the weekend. A statement released on Saturday confirmed: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
Holmes and Langsford married in June 2010 after 13 years of dating. They have one son, Jack, who was born in 2002. Their wedding was attended by numerous celebrities, including TV presenters Gloria Hunniford and Jeremy Kyle, EastEnders actress Zoe Lucker, and former champion boxer Barry McGuigan. Holmes also has three children, Declan, Rebecca, and Niall, from his first marriage.
The couple first began presenting ITV’s daytime programme This Morning together in 2006 and continued until 2021, when they were replaced by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond. Over the years, Holmes and Langsford co-hosted several other shows, such as How The Other Half Lives, Do The Right Thing With Eamonn And Ruth, and Eamonn And Ruth’s 7 Year Itch.

Holmes, known for his work on GMTV and Sky News’ Sunrise, launched Breakfast With Eamonn And Isabel on GB News in January 2022. Meanwhile, Langsford has been a regular presenter on Loose Women since the 1990s.
