Veganism Rise In Uk Leads To Increased Exports In Uk Slaughterhouses

By Ashley Young-

A notable rise in veganism in the Uk has led to a continuous increase in the  number of animals being slaughtered in the UK and subsequently exported abroad.

Several campaigns about veganism has led to a radical turn against meat in the Uk, leading to more people  to adopt plant-based, vegetarian and flexitarian diets than ever before.  British farms  have escalated their  business operations overseas and are milking the rising demand for meat abroad.

Latest figures from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs reveal that 28.8 million farm animals were killed last year – up 5.4 percent on figures for 2017. The mass scale of killing in the UK has affected  78,900 cows, sheep and pigs were killed in 2019, up from 74,800 two years before.

Researcher Chris Williamson who is among many ptofessionals who observes factors that influence changes in human behaviour the  told The Eye Of Media.Com:

”it has to be a real worry that more animals are being killed and sold abroad in order to take advantage of foreign markets where consumption of meat has not declined. The world will always be motivated by business, that is the drive to maximise profits.

It just seems such a shame that there doesn’t appear to be a lot of consideration for principles. We have to ask ourselves what kind of human beings we are if we increase the brutal killing of animals for the sake of profit, when we know how damaging this it. The worst thing is whether anything will be done about it”.
