A Metropolitan Police officer took photos of his penis at various locations in police stations.
The officer took the photos of his exposed genitalia between 2014 and 2021 while he was on duty.
The photos were discovered as part of an unconnected investigation.
He resigned from the Met in November 2023 but had been suspended from duty prior to this.
On Friday (January 5) a misconduct hearing took place in private in which a legally qualified chair directed that the officer will not be named.
A Met Police spokesperson said this decision was made to avoid prejudicing ongoing criminal proceedings.
The officer was found guilty of gross misconduct and would have been sacked had he not already resigned.
The Met’s spokesperson said: “This behaviour falls far below the standard rightly expected by the public the Commissioner has been clear that officers who do not meet these standards have no place in the Met.
“We will continue to ensure those whose actions erode the trust of the public, a trust that the vast majority of officers strive to maintain, can no longer serve with the Met
“He will now be added to the Barred List held by the College of Policing. Those appearing on the list cannot be employed by police, local policing bodies (PCCs), the Independent Office for Police Conduct or His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services.
