Interviewed by Sonia Lowe, Paris said her father had spoken to his children about his life’s controversies.
Paris, now 22, said at the time: “I mean a lot of people are jealous of him.
“They will do anything to put him down, whether it is make up rumours, take him to court with lies. Everyone wants something.”
Paris added: “I will always defend him.”
Misunderstood
The interview from the Jacksonology TV YouTube video channel, reveals the then 14-year-old said her dad was “innocent” and misunderstood by the wider world.
“The older we got the more we figured things out and stuff.”
She added: “Not a lot of people really did not understand him.”
Asked what she wanted the world to know about her father, famed for his quirky lifestyle from sleeping in oxygen tanks to having pet chimps, Paris revealed: “That he was really normal.
“He was just kind hearted, always generous…
“He is like a dove. I would say a dove is one of my favorite animals.
“And he is innocent and he is just a sweetheart.
Claims of sexual abuse from choreographer Wade Robson and James Safechuck, whose allegations formed the basis of the documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’ in March 2019, has dented Jackson’s legacy very much.
However, the documentary has drawn severe criticism from fans and the Jackson Estate alike – who filed a lawsuit for £100million.
In 2019, a new book by investigative journalist Dylan Howard claimed an advanced lie-detection algorithm identified “inconsistencies” in the testimony of one of the alleged victims in the documentary.
The twist was revealed in an explosive new book, ‘Bad: An Unprecedented Investigation into the Michael Jackson Cover-Up’, which documents the rise and fall of the world’s biggest pop star.
The author claimed he had results from what he describes as the “world’s most advanced digital behaviour analysis systems” to identify whether there were discrepancies in statements given by Mr Safechuck. He concluded there ere, but most viewers believed the testimony of the alleged victims.
