A U.S Surgeon has announced a war against the deadly Coronavirus, as he warned of a bad week that lies ahead
“I want America to understand this week, it’s going to get bad,” US Surgeon Dr General Jerome Adams told NBC’s “Today” show Monday.
“We really, really need everyone to stay at home. I think that there are a lot of people who are doing the right things, but … we’re finding out a lot of people think this can’t happen to them.
The respected surgeon has as recently as three months ago declared vaping among U.S. teenagers a national epidemic, threatening to hook a new generation of young people on nicotine. Dr Adams expressed shock at the number of people congregating at beaches in the face of this spiralling disease and renewed warnings for Americans to stay at home.
UNPRECEDENTED
New York state is suffering a big hit of the coronavirus as the United States faces a huge and unprecedented outbreak. NewYorkers and inhabitants of seven other states are facing orders to stay at home as President Donald Trump deploys National Guard units in New York, California and Washington to carry out approved mission designed to help assist state leaders.
DISCRETION
Trump has left discretion to individual State governors on how they implement laws and force to restrict the spread of the virus but the common practise everywhere has generally been to limit association and congregation with a collect effort to beat the virus which made its way notoriously made its way from China to the rest of the world.
The pressure on stock markets will continue to mount until a dramatic observation in the rate of new infections is seen. It means a whole new life experience for most people who are used to the liberty of everyday free movement and enjoyment.
STIMULUS
The U.S economy is believed to be heading for troubling recession if no cure or solution to the virus is obtained and infection rates continue to soar. The Kentucky senator Rand Paul has tested positive for Covid-19, making him the first confirmed case of coronavirus in the Senate. A post from his Twitter account said he was asymptomatic and “feeling fine”, and was now in quarantine.
He was tested “out of an abundance of caution” because of his “extensive travel and events” and was not aware of any direct contact with an infected person, according to the tweet. The disgraced Hollywood producer, Harry Weinstein, recently convicted of sexual assault and rape has tested positive for coronavirus. The 68-year-old has been moved to an isolation unit in Wende correctional facility, New York.
