The Colorado Springs Police Department has confirmed that Kimberlee Singler, (pictured)a 35-year-old woman suspected of killing her two children, has been apprehended in the United Kingdom over the weekend.
The U.K. authorities took Kimberly Singler into custody without incident, marking a significant development in a case that has captured national attention.
Details surrounding the arrest, including the location and whether extradition proceedings will follow, are currently pending.
The Colorado Springs Police Department released a statement late Sunday, affirming that their detectives from the homicide unit are collaborating closely with multiple law enforcement agencies as they continue to pursue the ongoing investigation.
Singler had been the subject of a nationwide search after an arrest warrant was issued, alleging charges of murder, attempted murder, child abuse, and assault.
The 35-year-old suspect was last seen on December 23, leaving authorities concerned about her whereabouts and the potential risk she posed.
The tragic incident occured on December 19 when officers responded to an early morning 911 call reporting a burglary at Singler’s condo unit.
Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless bodies of Singler’s two children, a 9-year-old girl, and a 7-year-old boy. The devastating scene prompted an immediate and intensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Authorities are now expected to navigate the complexities of extradition proceedings to ensure Singler’s return to the United States to face the serious charges levied against her.
