Tyson Fury’s Dad Sustains Cut After Headbutting Usyk’s Camp In Fight Build Up

Tyson Fury’s father, John Fury, was left with a bloody face following an altercation at a media event in Riyadh after escalating tensions between the two camps.

The incident occurred during a heated exchange between rival camps at a hotel where media activities were taking place ahead of the highly anticipated fight on May 18.

John Fury was seen appearing to headbutt a member of Usyk’s entourage, resulting in a large cut on his forehead.

Despite attempts to stem the bleeding, blood continued to flow from John Fury’s wound as he was restrained amidst chants of “Usyk, Usyk, Usyk” from Usyk’s camp.

John, a former boxer and bare-knuckle fighter, is part of Tyson’s has had several brushes with the law in the past.

The 59 year old later apologised for the attack.

John tod Seconds Out: “Sincere apologies to everybody involved, to be honest with you. It’s just the way we are. Emotions and tensions are running high.

“He was a very disrespectful fella, wasn’t he? Everybody knows, if you come close in a fighting man’s space, you’re gonna cop for something, aren’t you? Or else there’s something wrong. People don’t understand, we’re the real deal as fighters.

“Win, lose or draw, I’ve had a thousand hidings in my life. It doesn’t matter to me; what does matter to me is respect for my son, and he wasn’t showing any of it. Do you know what I’m saying?

The fight between the two unbeaten combatants is the first heavyweight unification fight since Tyson Fury unified the belts in 1999. With the WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO titles on the line, the stakes are high for both fighters.

Tyson Fury, who is favoured to capture all the belts, faces stiff competition from Usyk, with betting odds closely contested and many boxing experts tipping Usyk for victory on Saturday.

The altercation involving John Fury adds another layer of drama to an already highly anticipated bout, as fans eagerly await the outcome of what promises to be an electrifying clash between two heavyweight giants.
