A stubborn volcanic land in La Palma, Canary Islands, may spark a natural disaster, according to the scientific prophets of doom.
Research suggests a part of land of the Isle of Man could break away from Britain and smash into the Atlantic Ocean.
The huge tsunami with high waves threatens to blow some UK towns away, breaking parts of the Isle of man away from Britain and smashing it into the Atlantic Ocean.
The Plymoth herald reports that much of southern Britain and the eastern seaboard of America could be devastated by the evil tsunami
Dr Simon Day- a scientist from University College London claims the country must prepare for the natural disaster which would wipe out whole towns and travel several miles inland.
“It could be several metres high, it depends where you are and how much energy the wave has,” he said.
“If a tsunami of two or three metres hit the south west of England or Ireland you have a lot of tourists on beaches.”
“There was a series of objections,” he added. “But independent modelling has shown the same things as me. My response is it’s better to know so we can prepare.”
WARNINGS
The warnings were initiated by the Devon and Cornwall Local Resilience Forum (LRF)- an association of local authorities, agencies and “blue light” services which deals with major events.
The enormity and likelihood of the tsunami threat is highly contested, with some experts disputing the chances of its ocurence.
Professor Iain Stewart, director of the Sustainable Earth Institute at Plymouth University, said: “The volcano collapse is real but the nature of it is strongly contested, and the assumption of the mega-wave is speculative and unlikely, though there are few if any science papers that come out and critically dispute it explicitly.
It is better tobe safe than sorry, but better to be optimistic that this is nothing more than a scare. The U.K has suffered a number of floods in the past, but Tsunamis are not something of a common ooccurence in the U.K. Stranger things have happened before in life but with christmas round the corner, skepticism is healthier than fear as far as this particular warning is concerned. If the tsunami actually happens, the scientists who warned about will say they told us, but if it does not happen, they will be nowhere to be found.
