President Trump has reached out to Boris Johnson to offer a hand of an unparalleled economic tie after Brexit, as he emphasised the importance of strengthening the special relationship between the Uk and the U.S.
President Trump’s press secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a statement on Monday: “President Donald J. Trump spoke with Prime Minister Boris Johnson last Friday in their first official communication since the Prime Minister took office.
“They discussed the importance of continuing to strengthen the special relationship between the United States and United Kingdom.
“Specifically, they agreed to immediately deepen and expand the bilateral economic relationship upon the United Kingdom’s departure from the European Union.” The American president’s offer came as the prospect of a no deal Brexit between the Uk and the EU became deeper , with the EU vowing not to shift its position. Boris Johnson said he will exhaust all avenues to achieve a deal, but said the country must be ready to settle for a no deal if necessary.
Johnson’s team want to a new Britain that is totally free from EU ties, in order to have its own independence to trade with other countries. Skeptics say Johnson’s mission is heading for an economic disaster for the country, but the British prime minster insists the opposite will be true. Johnson said he wishes to strengthen the union of the four parts of the Uk, as he travelled to Wales and Scotland today.bbbbbbbbbb
