Theresa May is under pressure to name the date Britain will officially invoke article 50. EU leaders have predicted a hard Brexit for the UK, as Britain moves towards breaking it’s 40 year political and economic bond with the eu community.
EU bosses have made clear that if Britain is not prepared to contribute to the EU budget, and engage in free trade, it will experience a hard Brexit.
May has always made clear that she will have to examine the political landscape first, before invoking article 50, the legal process to formally begin the Brexit process.
However, the prime minister has heard conflicting messages about what Brexit would actually look like. Some have predicted doom and economic hardship, whilst others perveive a golden opportunty for world wide trade.
The prime minister will have her own evaluation of what to expect of Brexit, and will decide when to take step. May has re- iterated her stance that their will be no running commentary on Brexit.
Her position bears the undeniable signs of common sense , for the b Brexit process is neither a joke nor a theatrical spectacle. It is a challenging path which will either be very beneficial or very damaging.
