TENNIS STAR MURRAY WINS BBC SPORTS PERSONALITY AWARD

British tennis star, Andy Murray, has won the BBC sports personality of the year 2015, cementing a tremendous legacy for the second time, after winning the young personality of the year in 2004. The outstanding brit, who took Britain to its first Davis cup in 79 years. Rugby league star, Robin Sansfield came second, whilst Jessica, Ernis Hill came third.

The popular sportsman who reached the final of the Australian open and the semi finals of both the Wimbledon and the French open, marking a remarkable career. Tennis is a very competitive sport that requires speed, stamina, and plenty of skill, making it a commendable achievement for Murray to make history in the sport for Britain. Murray is a very likeable individual with an impeccable character, which further justifies his selection as the winner of this year 12 strong contenders for the award. His dignified persona when blended with his achievements, makes him a worthy winner of the award which many had privately tipped him to win.

Britain’s new world boxing champion, Tyson Fury, had little chance of winning the award, even if he had never been embroiled in the controversy that has surrounding him in the run up to the annual award. His controversial comments and the tide of protest against his inclusion, damaged any chances he had of winning the award, and despite his apology, there remained a sour taste in the mouths of the thousands of attendees at the event.
