Greater Manchester Police have arrested a teenager after a 15-year-old(Mohanad Abdullaahi Goobe) was fatally stabbed in the Moss Side area of the city. Officers found the victim with serious stab wounds on Monday evening after a “disturbance” involving a number of people. His death is an “appalling act,” according to Chief Superintendent David Meeney from the City of Manchester district. Police are offering support to the victim’s family and friends during this tragic time.

Police Response to Teenager Stabbed to Death Manchester
Police have arrested another 15-year-old boy on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning. As the murder investigation progresses, officers have implemented temporary Section 60 powers in the area until Tuesday evening. These powers grant police the right to stop and search anyone in a specified area without needing reasonable suspicion. They are used to prevent violence and take weapons off the streets.

Chief Superintendent Meeney affirmed the police’s commitment to finding answers for the victim’s family. “We remain committed to providing the victim’s family with the answers they deserve,” he said in a statement. Additional officers are in the area as part of the ongoing investigation. The force has also urged the public not to share any footage of the incident on social media, as it could have a significant impact on the victim’s family and any future prosecution.
