Teachers at a German school have expressed Fury at a Muslim boy who refused to shake his principles hands.
The snub occurred at a graduation ceremony for A Grade students at Kurt Tuchilsky school in Germany. The boy, who has not been named, initially declined the offer of his female teachers hands when she reached out to congratulate the boy.
Other staff members looked in shock as the boy blatantly ignored his teacher. The Muslim boy later told his teacher in a private conversation that his religious beliefs forbid him to touch a woman, even for a formal handshake.
SNUB
He repeated the seeming snub when his principal, also a female, attempted to shake his hand. His principal, Andrea Ludkea, was stunned at the boy but refused to throw him out as requested by other teachers.
Teachers immediately boycotted the rest of the graduation, in protest of what appeared to be nothing short of arrogance.
Some sects of Islam teach against any physical contact with the opposite sex. However, applying such teachings to an occasion like a graduation ceremony woefully betrays any level of intelligence this young lad may have.
Any god that expects a follower to display a semblance of rudeness and disrespect, is not one to be followed. No genuine diety who may exist can justify condoning such pathetic behaviour.
ATTITUDES
Attitudes like that serve to substantially weaken and detract from the authenticity of any such faith or belief. Religious people must learn to be rational and adapt to common sense principles of civil behaviour. The teacher’s fury in boycotting the rest if the graduation was understandable.
GOAL
Any such law in Islam would at best have at its heart the goal of limiting physical contact in order to avoid such contact escalating to a full-blown sexual encounter. This doesn’t mean it should be applied so ridiculously, enough to make the religious individual look silly and backward.
