Davis, indicted by a grand jury, faces charges of murder with the use of a deadly weapon in connection to Tupac Shakur’s tragic death. While Davis may not have been the one who physically shot Shakur, Nevada law allows for murder charges under the state’s aiding and abetting statute.

This statute holds individuals equally responsible if they played a role in assisting someone in committing a crime.

Las Vegas, Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson explained, “So if you helped somebody commit a crime, you can be equally as guilty.”

He noted that this theory is central to the case against Davis, emphasizing that even if he did not pull the trigger, his alleged involvement in planning the crime could lead to murder charges.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Jason Johansson shed light on the case, stating that Davis is believed to have been the “shot caller” for the group of individuals involved in the murder plot.

He is thought to have orchestrated the plan that ultimately led to Tupac Shakur’s tragic demise.

Police investigators have not disclosed all the details regarding how Davis obtained the weapon used in the murder, but they do confirm that it was sourced from a “close associate.”

Davis is scheduled to appear in court in the coming days, where a date for his jury trial will be set.

The arrest of Duane Keith Davis marks a significant development in a case that has remained unsolved for over two decades.

Tupac Shakur, one of the most influential figures in the history of hip-hop music, was fatally shot on September 7, 1996, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The shooting occurred shortly after attending a Mike Tyson boxing match at the MGM Grand Hotel. Shakur was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries six days later.

The murder of Tupac Shakur has remained a subject of intense speculation and conspiracy theories over the years.

Some individuals have even promoted the theory that Tupac faked his own death to escape the pressures of fame and legal troubles.

However, the recent arrest of Duane Keith Davis underscores law enforcement’s commitment to solving this cold case and bringing those responsible to justice.

Las Vegas Metro Police Department investigators have credited Davis’ statements to various media outlets, including his participation in a 2018 Netflix documentary on the Shakur homicide and the release of his memoir, as key factors that reignited interest in the case and led to his arrest.

While it has taken more than two decades, this breakthrough offers hope for long-awaited closure in the murder of Tupac Shakur.
