Southend Ambulance had to be called for a man knocked out flat after having a few bottles of wine and some cigarettes in Southend, Essex.
The man was seen putting the bottle of wine down and passing out after consuming too much alcohol. A man from the ambulance service can be seen attending to the man, who is motionless and out of it.
Britain has been basking in hot weather for the last few days, with temperatures soaring to high levels of 30 degrees fareinheight in some regions of the country.
Pubs around the country were full of revellers and Brits also assembled in various homes, utilizing their balconies and gardens to celebrate the glorious weather.
As barbeque’s were widespread across the country, eating was followed by plenty of smoking and drinking in many circles.
Placing limits on the amount of alcohol consumed is not a strong point for many Brits, who like to enjoy their summer without restrictions.
However, the importance of responsible drinking cannot be overstated, even in the sort of brilliant sunshine being enjoyed by Brits in the past week.
Southend On Sea is a popular holiday resort, with people pouring out to the seafront in droves from all over the country. The area is home to both the underclass and the rich; the drive for money is high and intense, whether sought legally or illegally.
Drugs use is commonplace, and the town has some of the countries most exciting nightclubs, including Talk and Mayhem nightclub.
Popular pubs along the sea front include The Borough Hotel and Chinnerys, with the ‘Old Hat‘, one of the towns most attended bars during the week and weekends.
I’m hot weather, many go pub crawling, drinking from bar to bar, and many start their journey from upmarket Leigh On Sea, home to the affluent and situated about two miles from Southend.
Leigh On Sea sets the standards which Southend tries to emulate, with many of those who can’t measure up to standards, giving into a life of hard drugs, hopelessness, and nuisance.
Killings in the area are not uncommon, generally related to drug turf wars. In the midst of all this are a number of pleasant friendly people, amongst several wolves and monster-like characters.
The sight of a man unconscious because of too much consumption of alcohol is a crying shame to those who simply cannot engage in responsible drinking or socialising.
Drinking in the Sun is best enjoyed when done in moderation and with good company so that one is left standing at all times.
