Sixth Person Jailed After Romanian Girl In Slough Foster Care was repeatedly Raped

By Lucy Caulkett-

The Crown Prosecution Service has today said that a sixth person has been jailed after a young Romanian girl from Slough was kidnapped in Crowthorne last year.

Aurelia Stan, 38, was jailed after being convicted for helping orchestrate the girl’s abduction from a foster home in February 2021, before she was taken to stay in Sheffield.

Unfortunately, her photograph has not been released, which would have been ideal to heap full shame on her for her cruel offences.

The Crown Prosecution did not explain why she has just been jailed, and when she was sentenced.

Her sentence comes after Alexandru Olteanu, 20, Marius Bucur, 19, Nutel-Virgil Papadache, 41, a 39-year-old woman from London and a 59-year-old man from Slough were imprisoned for a combined total of 40 years in April.

The 59-year-old raped the girl ‘repeatedly’ in these years including in his van and in her own home, Reading Crown Court heard. In addition, the 59-year-old man was convicted of one count of rape of a child under 13 and five counts of rape at the same court on the same date. His identity has been withheld for legal purposes

During an incident when she was older, the 39-year-old woman encouraged the man to assault the girl and slapped the girl herself three times.

In late 2020, the girl eventually escaped her Slough home through a window.

The girl made her way to Slough train station, crossing live train tracks to escape, where she waited for several hours before being found by police.

She was taken into foster care in November 2020 but it was only in January 2021 that she told police about the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of the 59-year-old man.

It was then that the unnamed 59 year old man and the woman hatched a plot to kidnap the girl, recruiting Aurelia Stan, Papadache, Olteanu and Bucur to assist.

The man told her that if her period was late she should blame one of her male schoolfriends for raping her.

The girl did this and police arrested a Year Seven boy, but the allegation was later dropped.

“The fact she made such an allegation which resulted in the arrest is an extremely serious feature of this case”, Judge Campbell said.

Video On Social Media

The 59-year-old raped the girl ‘repeatedly’ in the years that followed, including in the man’s van and in her own home, Reading Crown Court heard.

When she was older, a short video circulated on social media of the girl being raped by two boys.

The 59-year-old’s reaction was to laugh at her before he assaulted the girl.

Reading Crown Court heard how the man punched and kicked the girl and attacked her with a “heavy” weapon, fracturing a bone in her finger.

The 39-year-old woman, whose identity has also been anonymised following a court order, was present during the attack and encouraged the man.

She slapped the girl herself three times and asked the man why he had stopped when he ceased assaulting her.

Escape

In late 2020, the girl eventually escaped the Slough home through a window.

This came on the same day that the 59-year-old raped her for the final time — an incident which occurred in front of young children

Bucur started up a friendship with the girl by chatting to her online while she was isolated in care.

Reading Crown Court at the time also heard how Papadache was set to be paid £2,000 for his leading role in organising the kidnap.Oliver Perry-Smith, Marius Bucur, Gordon Waterson and Pierce Darlow

In late February 2021, the group met in South-East London before Bucur lured the girl to Sheffield having been picked up by the group in Crowthorne.

The victim was with the group for 38 hours before police were able to locate her and take her away from the group before being found by police.

Crown Prosecution Service lawyer Marc Thompson said: “The victim in this case has suffered years of sexual abuse from a grown man. When she thought she had found someone she could trust, he brought her back to her abuser.

“In coming forward to the police with her experiences, this young girl has shown a tremendous amount of bravery. The Crown Prosecution Service is committed to working with the police and supporting victims of these dreadful crimes, so that offenders can be brought to justice.

“The victim may have trouble trusting anyone again, especially when connecting with others online. My only hope is that the conviction and imprisonment of her captors and rapist helps her to regain a sense of safety, and that she might finally get the chance to live the life a young girl deserves.”
