Michael Carroll’s lottery win
Carroll was just 19 when he scooped the big prize of £9.7m , and was known for extravagant splashing of the cash on lavish parties as he developed a taste for drugs, alcohol, and brothels.
He won the big fortune with a single lucky dip, and was up all night until the next day.
The then teenager has always said he had the time of his life with cocaine fuelled orgies and multiple parties that saw his mansion in Downham Market, a popular spot for young people.
Carroll said he had slept with over 4,000 women, paid for orgies, and once shared that he started each day with “three lines of Charlie and half a bottle of vodka,” as the Daily Star reports. The former millionaire spent his entire winnings and was eventually left homeless, bankrupt, and divorced after his wife left him.
After frittering away his winnings, Carroll worked at a biscuit factory, a slaughterhouse and also returned to his old job as a binman.
“I live a good, free lifestyle now and I’m happier because I’ve got my life back, I’m a skint lottery winner,” he said.
“I reckon I’m lucky to be alive. If I still had the money I’d be 6ft under.”
Carroll was known for his spending on sex parties, costing him several thousands each time. During He labelled these sex parties “Roman-style orgies” and spent up to £2,000 a day on cocaine and said he “started sniffing the world away.”
He was very generous t0 family and close friends
He gave nearly half of his winnings away to family, but was duped by associates and a few people who later came into his life.
Carroll eventually said he had turned his life around and giving up drugs.
He began training and keeping fit for a period of time, trying to improve his life.
Mikey Carrol was close to his sister, Zoe, and would have ben deeply sad at news of her death.
