In a resounding vote of confidence, Members of Parliament have thrown their support behind Sir Martyn Oliver’s appointment as the next Chief Inspector of Ofsted.
Following a rigorous pre-appointment hearing before the Commons Education Select Committee on Tuesday, the chief executive of Outwood Grange Academies Trust is now poised to take the helm at the inspectorate in January 2024, embarking on a five-year term.

Of the five committee members, four voted in favor of his appointment, with one, Labour MP Kim Johnson, casting a dissenting vote.
