A shooting at a school in Michigan has left at least three students dead, authorities have said.

Three people were killed and eight others were injured in a shooting Tuesday at Oxford High School in suburban Detroit, authorities said.
The suspect, a 15-year-old sophomore, is in custody, Oakland County Undersheriff Michael McCabe said at a news conference. A handgun was also located, he said.
The three people killed are all thought to be students, he said. Their identities have not been released, but McCabe described them as a 16-year-old male, a 14-year-old female and a 17-year-old female.
The eight wounded, including a teacher, were taken to hospitals for various injuries, according to officials. Two were in surgery late Tuesday afternoon, and their conditions were unclear. Six others were stable, officials said.
Police were called to Oxford High School in Oxford Township, Michigan, after reports of a school shooting on Tuesday, November 30.
According to the Associated Press, Oakland County Undersheriff Mike McCabe spoke at a press conference where he revealed that no motive was known at this time.
Police responded to calls of an active shooter at the school at 12:55pm local time. Officer McCabe said police had r A suspect has been arrested and authorities found a semi-automatic handgun at the scene, along with clips of ammunition.
Officer McCabe spoke about the moment police found the suspect, saying that ‘deputies confronted him, he had the weapon on him, they took him into custody.’
Tim Throne, who is the superintendent of Oxford Community Schools, spoke to reporters and revealed that he was not aware of the names of the victims. He said, ‘I’m shocked. It’s devastating.’
According to Officer McCabe, the suspect would not reveal how he was able to take the gun into the school. The suspect was also unharmed before being taken into custody.
Its the 13th mass shooting in 2021. In September the Collierville shooting saw a shooter opened fire in a Kroger, killing one and injuring 14, before taking his own life.

The same month in the Colorado Springs shooting: Six people were killed when a man opened fire at a birthday party in a trailer park. The shooter took his own life shortly afterwards.
And in April, in the Indianapolis FedEx shooting, nine people were killed and seven others were wounded after a mass shooting at a FedEx facility. The shooter took his own life.
The same month in the Rock Hill shooting, six people, including two children, were killed in a shooting perpetrated by a former NFL play.
